Web3 Tipping
DegenFeed supports native Web3 tipping across four chains: Solana, Ethereum, Base, and USDC.

Setting Up Your Wallet
Step 1: Connect a Wallet
- Go to Settings → Wallet
- Click Connect Wallet
- Choose your wallet provider:
- Phantom (Solana)
- MetaMask (Ethereum/Base)
- Rainbow (multi-chain)
- WalletConnect (universal)
Step 2: Configure Tipping
- Set your default tip token and amount
- Add a tip message (optional, displayed on your profile)
- Enable/disable tipping per network
Sending Tips
From the Feed
- Find a post you want to tip
- Click the Tip button (💰 icon)
- Select the token and amount
- Confirm the transaction in your wallet
- The tip is sent instantly on-chain
From the Composer
You can attach a tip to your own cross-post as a "bounty" to encourage engagement.
Receiving Tips
- Tips are sent directly to your connected wallet address
- Tip notifications appear in your unified notification feed
- View your tip history in Settings → Wallet → History
- Export your tip history for tax purposes
Tipping on Nostr (Zaps)
Nostr has a native tipping mechanism called Zaps (Lightning Network). DegenFeed supports both:
- Web3 tips: On-chain SOL/ETH/USDC via wallet
- Nostr Zaps: Lightning Network via your Nostr wallet
When tipping a Nostr user, you can choose either method.
Fees
DegenFeed charges 0% fee on tips. You only pay the network gas/transaction fee:
- Solana: ~0.000005 SOL per tip
- Base: ~$0.01 in ETH per tip
- Ethereum L1: Variable (typically $2-15 depending on gas)
Security
- Tips are non-custodial — funds go directly from your wallet to the recipient
- DegenFeed never holds your tokens
- Private keys remain in your wallet, never shared with DegenFeed
- Transaction signing happens in your wallet app
